The Somatically Ill Population Research

This pillar aims to facilitate, strengthen and innovate practice in pediatric psychology. In close collaboration with the medical staff, we conduct longitudinal follow-up studies in children and adolescents with congenital conditions and rare chronic diseases, and their families, in order to optimize chronic disease management, including social, emotional and cognitive wellbeing. We aim to identify risk and resilience profiles for mental problems and develop, test, and implement prevention and intervention strategies, which will be tailored to specific needs of children and families.
