General information

Check-in on arrival

Every time you come to the hospital, you will need to obtain a day ticket from one of the self check-in kiosks. Your day ticket will show the time and place of your appointment.

First visit

If this is your first visit to the Erasmus MC, please report to the registration desk. Once you have been registered, you will be issued with a day ticket.

Follow-up appointment

At the start of every further visit to the hospital, you should obtain a day ticket from one of the self check-in kiosks, which you will find near all the entrances, i.e. in the Arcade, Passage and Plein, and near the entrance to the Ba Building.

You will need to present a valid ID document.

Get your day ticket

The self-service kiosk will tell you where to show your ID document (identity card, passport or driving licence). The kiosk examines your ID document before retrieving your electronic patient file for you. The self-service kiosk does not store your data.

You will be issued with a day ticket showing the time and place of your appointment. Make sure you don’t lose it, as you may need it for the rest of the day. Please note that your day ticket does not contain any personal details.

Directions

Your day ticket shows the time and place of all appointments you have that day. Follow the signs to the building, floor and waiting area shown on the day ticket. One of our hosts or hostesses will be pleased to show you the way.

What should you do once you get to the right place?

Make sure you get to the right floor of the right building about 15 minutes before your appointment.

Once you arrive at the outpatient clinic, you should go to the self-service kiosk to scan the bar code on your day ticket. You have now announced your arrival, which means that your healthcare professional knows you are there. Please take a seat in the waiting area until your name is called. The information screen tells you which physicians are currently holding consultations and whether any of them are running late.

Blood test or X-ray?

If your day ticket says that you need to go for a blood test, an X-ray, an ultrasound scan or an MRI scan, it will also tell you where the blood test or the radiological examination will take place.

More than one appointment on the same day?

If you have more than one appointment on the same day, once you have completed your first appointment, you should go to the floor where your next appointment is and use your day ticket to register again at the self-service kiosk on the floor in question.

Please note that, if we make another appointment for you after you have obtained your day ticket, this new appointment will not be stated on your day ticket. You can report for the appointment in question by scanning the bar code on your day ticket at a self-service kiosk close to the place where the appointment is due.

What if your details are wrong?

The self check-in kiosk will state your last-known personal details. If these details are no longer correct, you should go to the registration desk or self-service registration kiosk either before or after your appointment to change them. You will be issued with a day ticket in the normal way.

The self check-in kiosk will let you know if certain personal details are missing from our database. You will be asked to go to the registration desk, where our staff will ask you for the missing information. You will then be issued with a day ticket, so that you can go to your appointment.
