Being admitted to hospital can be a bit of a scary experience – not just for a young patient, but also for his or her parents. As a parent, you know that your child is in unfamiliar surroundings away from the home. Naturally, you want your child to receive the best possible treatment. At the same time, you also want to spend as much time as possible with him or her. While accepting the need for hospital treatment, you also hope that their stay will be as pleasant as possible.
In other words, you want your child to receive the best possible care. The staff of the Erasmus MC Sophia Children’s Hospital in Rotterdam do their utmost to give children the care they need.
What does the Friends of the Sophia Hospital Foundation do?
The Friends of Sophia Hospital Foundation is the fund-raising arm of the Erasmus MC Sophia Children’s Hospital. With the aid of gifts and donations, the Foundation funds extra research into treatment methods.
The Foundation also supports projects that are designed to make a hospital stay as pleasant as possible – both for children and for their parents. The Foundation funds attractive wall decorations and furnishings, games and toys, and colourful fittings that bring liven up the corridors.
How can you help the Erasmus MC Sophia Children’s Hospital?
The most obvious way in which you can help the Erasmus MC Sophia Children’s Hospital is by making a donation. However, you can also decide to become a ‘Friend of the Erasmus MC Sophia Children’s Hospital’. Friends receive a newsletter twice a year, with information on projects the Foundation has funded.
