A long-term follow-up program for these patients is in place.
The department has two basic research programs:
- Lung development, BronchoPulmonary Dysplasia (BPD) and developmental biology of the lung and diaphragm and genetics.
- The enteral nerve system Hirschsprung’s disease in collaboration with the department of Clinical Genetics.
Clinical studies and long-term follow-up research are focussed on congenital anatomical malformations.
- The third research program is experimental and clinical research in minimal access surgery.
- The fourth research concerns pediatric pharmacology and care research focussed on pain.
