About D. (Dieuwke) Schiphof, PhD
Introduction
Dr. Dieuwke Schiphof is an assistant professor working on the Department of General Practice at Erasmus MC.
She is a clinical epidemiologist, Human Movement Scientist and trained physiotherapist. She completed her PhD in 2012 at the department of General Practice of the Erasmus MC, Rotterdam. Her thesis focused on the classification, early recognition and imaging of knee osteoarthritis. She was a visiting professor at the Department of Kinesiotherapy at the Vrije University in Brussels.
Her research focus is the optimalisation of the care for people with osteoarthritis and other musculoskeletal disorders, taking into account preferences and opinions of patients and clinicians.
She is founder of the patient panel of the Department of General Practice and currently developing a platform for people with osteoarthritis, Artrose Gezond, to use the experiences of people with osteoarthritis to shape better healthcare through research.
