About E.M. (Erin) Macri, PhD
Introduction
Dr. Erin Macri is a Canadian-trained physical therapist who completed her PhD in 2017 at the University of British Columbia, Canada. Her dissertation focused on characterizing patellofemoral alignment and bony morphology in individuals with patellofemoral osteoarthritis.
Dr. Macri came to Erasmus MC in 2018 as a Banting Postdoctoral Fellow (funded by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research), and in 2020 joined the Department of Orthopaedics and Sport Medicine. Her work is focused on identifying biomechanical risk factors for osteoarthritis that could help to develop better treatments for preventing osteoarthritis.
Dr. Macri is an associate editor for the British Journal of Sports Medicine, and is an Executive Board member for the International Patellofemoral Pain Research Network.
