About N.B.J. (Niels) Dur, PhD-candidate
Introduction
With a background in Technical Medicine, I am passionate about using technological advancements to solve clinical problems and improve patient care within the field of Orthopedic Surgery.
My research focusses on the role of biomechanics in the onset and progression of osteoarthritis, specifically of the knee joint. Currently, we're developing a state-of-the-art biomechanics-lab with which we can more accurately do biomechanical measurements. By combining these measurements with advanced PET-MR imaging and developing individualized biomechanical models, our goal is to study specific load patterns on both joint- and tissue-level and discover new biomarkers for progression of osteoarthritis.
