Just like other hospitals, our invoices list charges for what are known as ‘DBC healthcare products’. DBC is a Dutch abbreviation that stands for ‘diagnosis treatment combination’. A ‘healthcare product’ is the treatment you receive. The price of a healthcare product is the average of all the various costs making up a particular treatment. In other words, the price does not represent the total amount of the costs you actually incur. Instead, it is the average of all the costs incurred by all patients who receive the same treatment from us.

Advance payments
You will be asked to make an advance payment if you are not insured (or not fully insured) for the medical expenses you are likely to incur. This might be the case, for example, if your treatment is not covered by the basic healthcare insurance or if your health insurance company has not signed a contract with us. If you have a question about an invoice for an advance payment, please contact the Patient and Healthcare Service Desk (Frontservice Patiënt- & Zorgadministratie) in the main hall. The Patient and Healthcare Service Desk is open from Monday to Friday, from 8 am to 4:30 pm. You can also fill in the contact form below.
