Thinking in terms of solutions is in our genes

The Erasmus MC Transplant Institute offers patients optimal care during their transplantation. All patients receive care tailored to their specific needs, to give each patient the maximum chance of survival. Selecting good donor organs is very important, as this is the starting point for a successful outcome after transplantation.

Our wealth of experience enables us to offer more - we always go the extra mile for our patients. We look for possibilities, and think about what is possible instead of why it should not be possible. That is our approach.

Sharing knowledge

We have specialized knowledge and expertise in serious liver, kidney, lung and heart diseases. Leading transplant specialists work together within our institute. As a result, we are constantly learning from each other. This is important, because knowledge about the transplantation of one organ has an impact on knowledge about the transplantation of other organs.

Best outcome

We want the best transplant care for adults and children. We are always looking for solutions. If it can't be done forward, we do it backward. We work together with the patient to ensure we achieve the best outcome after his or her transplant.

Most suitable donor organ

A healthy organ is very important in transplantation. We put the organs in the best possible condition before transplantation. This gives the patient the best chance at survival, and ensures that the organ lasts as long as possible after transplantation. Together with scientists, our transplant specialists are always looking for new treatment options, because mortality on the waiting list has to be reduced.

Healthy living

And, when we have been privileged to give someone a donor organ, we stay involved for life. We guide our patients towards a healthy lifestyle; achieving and maintaining a good quality of life for our patients is important. Lifelong follow up means we can quickly detect and take care of any complications that occur. Welcome to the Transplant Institute.
