About our research group/lab
Our research
Background information
Acquired hearing loss in children is difficult to ascertain on a population level. Little is known about onset of hearing loss, pathophysiology and for example association with noise exposure.
Overall aim
Our purpose is to perform reliable longitudinal hearing
evaluation, with repeated measurements, that has the ability to study associations with the development of permanent HL in children, in order to design effective preventive strategies.
Research focus areas
Population based research, within the Generation R Study, with repeated audiometry (pure tone, oto-acoestic emissions, tympanometry, speech in noise testing en non-word-repetition).
