About Principal investigator dr. S.C. Yap, MD, PhD
Introduction
Sing-Chien Yap, MD, PhD, is a cardiac electrophysiologist at the Erasmus MC in Rotterdam. He is the director of Clinical Electrophysiology (EP) unit. He performs the full spectrum of EP, including complex catheter ablations, device implantations and lead extractions. Furthermore, he is responsible for the care of patients with genetic cardiac rhythm disease as part of an official recognized Center of Expertise.
He has authored and co-authored over 135 peer-reviewed publications and has supervised 3 PhD students. His main research interests include clinical evaluation of novel EP technology and risk stratification for sudden cardiac death. He is a board member of the Netherlands Heart Rhythm Association (NHRA). He is honored to be a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology (FESC) and European Heart Rhythm Association (FEHRA).
