About R.G. (Trudy) Voortman, PhD
Introduction
Trudy Voortman works as associate professor at the department of Epidemiology of Erasmus MC, where she leads the Nutrition & Lifestyle research group. Her group's research focuses on the role of nutrition and lifestyle in health throughout the lifecourse, with studies embedded in several large population-based cohorts, including the Rotterdam Study and the Generation R Study.
Dr. Voortman holds a BSc and an MSc degree in Nutrition and Health from Wageningen University, an MSc degree in Epidemiology from the Netherlands Institute of Health Sciences, and a PhD degree in Epidemiology from Erasmus University.
Previously, she worked at Unilever, Harvard School of Public Health, Nestlé and UC Berkeley.
