I work both as a physical therapist and as a researcher at the department of Orthopedics & Sports medicine – Unit Physical Therapy at the Erasmus MC and at the department of Anesthesiology – Center for Pain Medicine.

Education and career
After obtaining my bachelor degree in physiotherapy at the Hogeschool Rotterdam in 1999, I started with studying Movement Sciences and Epidemiology at the Maastricht University, in which I graduated in 2002. Aside these studies I also worked as a physiotherapist in a private physiotherapy practice in Maastricht. In 2002 I started as a clinical physiotherapist at the Erasmus MC. In addition to my work as a clinical physiotherapist, I also do research and hope to complete my PhD-thesis next year.

Teaching activities
I am a lecturer at the Dutch Society of Anesthesiology.
