About E. (Elena) Isaevska, PhD, MD
Introduction
I am a postdoctoral researcher with background in medicine, epidemiology, and (epi)genetics. My main research interest is studying how genetic/ early life environmental factors affect children's (mental) health, as well as the potential biological mechanisms that underlie these factors.
Currently, I focus on the intergenerational transmission of mental health risks, particularly the unique epigenetic patterns that encapsulate genetic and prenatal influences and may improve risk prediction. Most of my research is embedded in the Generation R study – an ongoing population-based birth cohort.
