Dr. Hunink completed a BSc in applied mathematics, an MD degree, and a PhD in health decision sciences. She trained as a radiologist in Amsterdam (VUMC), did sub-specialty training in interventional and cardiovascular radiology in Boston (BWH/Harvard), and did a research fellowship at Harvard (HSPH/BWH/HMS). She currently directs the Assessment of Radiological Technology (ART) program and the division of Clinical Epidemiology at the Erasmus MC and she is adjunct professor of Health Decision Science at the Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health, Boston. In addition, she is the Director of the Netherlands Institute for Health Sciences at Erasmus MC. Her research interests include technology assessment of imaging biomarkers and image-guided therapies, computerized decision support for evidence-based use of imaging tests, optimizing the design of RCTs for non-pharmaceutical interventions, and evaluating the effects of lifestyle interventions that alleviate chronic stress and prevent burnout among healthcare professionals.
