About MSc. A.A.S. (Aaron) Doug Deen
Introduction
Aaron Doug Deen is a PhD student in the department of Biomedical Engineering at Erasmus Medical Center. Hailing from a small island in the Caribbean, Aaron completed his BASc at the University of Trinidad and Tobago (UTT) before moving to Europe where he completed his MSc at the Technical University of Denmark (DTU). His general research lies in the application of light in medicine, and he is currently investing a novel imaging modality called “Thermo-elastic optical coherence tomography”, under the supervision of Dr. Tianshi Wang and Dr. Gijs van Soest. He seeks to then incorporate this modality in medical devices for practical applications. Aaron hopes to inject some Caribbean ‘flavor’ into his future research endeavors.
