About Prof. R.P.J. (Ricardo) Budde, Prof.
Introduction
Ricardo Budde is a staff cardiovascular radiologist, associate professor and clinical section chief for cardiovascular radiology.
He obtained his MD, PhD and an MSc in Medical Biology from Utrecht University. Training as a Radiologist was completed in 2013 followed by a fellowship in cardiovascular radiology. Ricardo passed the European Diploma in Cardiac Imaging examination in 2014.
He has (co)-authored over 145 peer-reviewed publications and serves as daily supervisor for multiple PhD students. His main research interests include imaging of (prosthetic) heart valves, aortic disease, endocarditis, imaging to optimize cardiac interventions and dose reduction techniques for CT. The Dutch Heart Foundation has awarded him two large grants as PI including a prestigious Dekker grant. Ricardo is an active member of the European Society of Cardiovascular Radiology as well as Fellow of the Society of Cardiovascular Computed Tomography.
