Paul Boomkamp is a member of the Board of Directors of Erasmus MC.
He has substantial experience in the fields of financial services, professional services and healthcare. He studied physics at TU Eindhoven and economics at VU Amsterdam, and holds a PhD in natural sciences from the University of Twente.
After his studies, Paul worked at Shell (research and development) and at McKinsey & Company as a management consultant. In addition, Paul worked in management positions at the insurance company AXA Netherlands and as a director at AEGON Netherlands from 2007. In 2012, he switched to healthcare as a member of the Board of Directors of the Catharina Hospital in Eindhoven. From 2015 to 2019 he worked as chief financial & risk officer at PGGM.
