About M.J.H.A. (Marieke) Kruip, MD

Introduction

My clinical research is focused on optimization of the diagnosis and treatment of patients with a bleeding disorder (like hemophilia) or thrombotic disorder. I am especially interested in desmopressin, an old drug but still very important as a treatment option for patients with a bleeding disorder. In the DAVID study (PI) the feasibility of combination treatment is evaluated, i.e. patients with mild hemophilia A in need for surgery are treated with desmopressin combined with FVIII concentrates, using PK-guided dosing.

For patients with thrombotic disorders my research is from diagnostic strategies to improvement of treatment with anticoagulants and treatment of complications.
