Introduction
Multiple myeloma is a disease caused by the accumulation of malignant plasma cells. Myeloma cells accumulate in the bone marrow, where they alter the local micro-environment to create a supportive niche that fosters myeloma development and drives therapy resistance. My research is aimed at deciphering the interactions on multiple myeloma cells with the bone marrow, with the ultimate goal of identifying ways to disrupt the bone marrows supportive function and improve anti-cancer therapies.
