European Thermotherapy School 2025

Starting date: Monday, April 14, 2025
Duration: 3 days
Education provider: Erasmus MC Cancer Institute

The European thermotherapy school aims to provide knowledge about the fundamentals of thermoradiotherapy and how to perform high quality treatments by experts from the thermotherapy field.

About us

Overview

This 3-day European thermotherapy school aims to teach radiation oncologists, (clinical) physicists, radiation therapists, other medical specialists, and researchers the knowledge to perform high quality hyperthermia treatments. The lectures will cover de following topics related to hyperthermia: biology, physics, clinical rationale, implementation and execution of thermortherapy treatments, and new developments in this field.
The lectures are presented by thermotherapy experts from different disciplines and European countries. The school will be held in two hospitals in the Netherlands: Erasmus MC in Rotterdam and Amsterdam UMC in Amsterdam.

Contents and learning goals

The European Thermotherapy school

  1. provides fundamental knowledge and understanding of biology related to  termotherapy
  2. provides fundamental knowledge and understanding of physics related to termotherapy
  3. provides a solid background from theory to practical implementation of thermortherapy treatment
  4. discusses clinical rationale for termotherapy
  5. gives practical examples of superficial and deep termotherapy treatments
  6. discusses new developments in termotherapy

Results and certificate

A digital certificate of attendance will be issued upon completion.
